Transfer of World Leisure Flag to ChunCheon, Korea!
ChunCheon relayed the baton for the next World Leisure Congress in 2010.
Lee Kwang-jun, the mayor of ChunCheon, and Son Eun-nam, the president of 2010 World Leisure Organizing Committee, handed over the world leisure flag on Oct. 10th at the closing ceremony of the 10th World Leisure Congress in Quebec, Canada.
The mayor said, "The 10th World Leisure Congress was successful, and ChunCheon will make its effort to make the next Congress a great event with exceptional programs and international-level of preparation.
Derek Casey, the chair of World Leisure Board of Directors, said, "Both the 9th Congress in Hangzhou and the 10th Congress in Quebec made a success and I am confident that the next Congress in ChunCheon will also be a great success since the organizers are making every effort for the Congress in 2010.
At the Congress attended representatives of Korean Associations in USA and Canada including Kim Kwang-oh, the former president of Gangwon People‘s Association in North America, Lee Tae-yong, the honorary ambassador of Gangwon Province for international cooperation, and Hwang Ju-kyoung, the director of Gangwon People's Association in Montreal, Canada.
The World Leisure Congress marks its 11th edition in ChunCheon, Korea in 2010 followed by Rimini, Italy in 2012.
