The Chuncheon National Museum was finally opened on Oct. 30 in 2002 after the long-cherished desire of Gangwon province people have served as both the treasure house of cultural heritage of the region and the pivotal cultural infrastructure of the nation as it preserves, exhibits and researches the cultural assets in Gangwon province and conducts the social education for people. The Museum is an appealing blend of the modern and refined appearances and the scenic landscape of mountains for a background, for which it was selected as "Best Architecture of the Year" and won the award from the Korean Institute of Architect in 2003.

DMZ is a buffer zone to prevent an armed conflict after the armistice agreement. There is some restrictions on troops staying, weapon disposition, and military installation in DMZ. Once DMZ has been established, what it has already had should be removed. DMZ of Korea is established on 27 July, 1953 in accordance with ‘The Armistice Agreement about military truce of Korea’. It is 248km long and 2km width on each side, south and north.
